I
heard about Vipers from a friend who bought me down to where they
trained in a gym in South London. I liked what I saw and started
training with them in 1991 under the tutelage of Lincoln Boney.
At
the time I was looking for a fighting style
that could enable me to respond effectively in any potential
dangerous situations; something that could give me the physical
strength to react responsively and confidently.
I had my first fight in Bradford in 1994
representing Vipers, a Thai Boxing fight which I won, and from
there went on to compete successfully in France, Romania, Trinidad and Tobago.

My most memorable fighting bout was in
Trinidad, fighting the country’s national champion. I remember enjoying the rhythmic sounds of the drums during
the fight, which was incredibly empowering that spurred me on for
such an easy win; I also recall competing and losing the Gold
Medal in Romania.
This was an interesting experience and a
learning curve, as I had to switch my classic pressure fighting
style to a counter attacking style.
I
won my first kickboxing title the W.U.M.A
(World United Martial Arts) British title in 1999.
Training with the Vipers for me has been
a real eye opener. Lincoln
Boney is a “true master” in the real meaning of
the word, as a fighting arts coach, a healer, and a spiritual
guide.
When I first began training I had a
general idea about my limitations in terms of skill, confidence
and my ability to learn, but training with Vipers had allowed me
to challenge and look beyond my unseen mental and physical limits,
it made me aware of my inner strength being with "THE VIPERS
FAMILY" gave me a rewarding insight of teamwork and the
importance of working together to achieve the same goals.
Apart
from my kickboxing coaching qualifications, I am also a fully
qualified YMCA Fitness Instructor.
At present I work as a European Sales Representative for a London
based graphic design company and teach part-time Thai and
Kickboxing and Circuit Base Kickboxing classes in South East
London.
